  • July 1999 – present, Accenture Consulting Services, Birmingham AL at Bellsouth Telecommunincations Inc.
    • Lead Software Developer , May 2005 – Billing for Tapestry wholesale billing system, using UNIX scripts, ORACLE, PL/SQL, C/C++, Perl deployed on a series of Sun Solaris UNIX servers with data transfer via Connect:Direct.

      • Duties include coding activities with korn shell scripts, connect:direct setups, pl/sql scripting, ORACLE triggers, debugging of C/C++ routines and correction of these routines
      • Investigation and resolution of production support issues and monitoring of cycles expecially during rate adjustments
      • Installation and configuration of Connect:Direct software on production and test servers

    • Technical Production Support Lead/Lead Software Developer , July 1999 – May 2005, Central EDI department, using Ascential DataStage TX data transformation software deployed on Sun Solaris UNIX servers with data transfer via Connect:Direct, Connect: Enterprise, MQSeries, Inovis VAN & Sterling VAN.

      • Duties included:
        • Coding activities: Mapping of documents, Unix and Perl scripts for document routing and system alerting, pl/sql routines for database archiving, access visual basic programs and interfaces, JAVA support of existing applications
        • Provided estimates on proposed work
        • Participated in release activities throughout system development life cycle.

        • Served as senior technical work lead on production support of corporate EDI system. Supervised activities of production support team which included 5 other programmers as well 24 by 7 technical support

  • 1996 - 1999
    • Senior Analyst/Programmer, Management Information Systems, Kimberly-Clark, Knoxville, TN. Duties include providing support in systems operation, maintenance, and enhancement of corporate Accounts Receivable System, a Dun & Bradstreet series M (Geac) system , including EDI and EFT application support. Designed and implemented EDI/EFT payment interface for system for automating cash application. Additionally, have functioned as technical lead for system performing system design, analysis, and technical coordination of work for a team of 2 to 4 programmers. As project lead for Accounts Receivable participated in design study and prototyping of a data warehouse for accounts receivable data for inquiry and reporting purposes. Software development tools include COBOL II, Infopac, Microsoft Access, SAS, Endeavor, File-Aid, Word, Excel, Visio, VSAM access methods, Microsoft Access, SQL Server, Windows NT, etc. Also, served on Web project team for Corporate Shared intranet. Designed and coded department information pages using Microsoft Interdev, Microsoft Frontpage, Microsoft Visual Basic and other web tools.


  • 1993 - 1996
    • Programmer/Analyst II Information Technology Systems Division, Lockheed Martin Energy Systems (formerly Martin Marietta Energy Systems), Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Duties included providing support in problem definition, analysis, database design, system documentation, data warehousing, and implementing and maintaining on-line and batch management information systems; and developing computer systems software and related products. Project leader for the corporate Accounts Receivable System. Co-leader on the Customer Reporting System (billing system). Additional experience with corporate Cost Accounting System, general ledger system, property systems, budgeting systems, time collection systems, and various other corporate accounting applications. Applications ranged from purchased Dun & Bradstreet accounting packages (series M) to in-house developed applications on an IBM 3090 MVS/ESA system. Software development tools included COBOL II, SAS, CICS, DB2, File-Aid, SQLnet, Excel, Word, VSAM access methods, etc.

  • 1992 - 1995
    • Adjunct Instructor, Tennessee Wesleyan College, Knoxville branch. Taught upper level accounting courses and computer science courses to traditional and nontraditional (full-time and part-time) students in the evening school. Courses included Principles of Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Advanced Accounting (Consolidations) and Auditing. Also, taught systems classes including Database Management Systems, Introduction to Programming, Introduction to Computer Applications, Programming in Basic, Programming in FORTRAN, etc

  • 1989 - 1992
    • Management Information System Project Manager, Finance & Business Mgmt. Division, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Lockheed Martin Energy Systems (formerly Martin Marietta Energy Systems). System Manager of ORNL Time Collection System and the ORNL Financial Information Center. Provided user support and training for these systems for 5,000+ users. Served as the Laboratory's user liaison for the Corporate-wide Information Center, providing user support to all corporate users of this system (10,000+ users). Participated in design and development of corporate client-server interface to the Corporate Information Center. Participated in system documentation activities, system design, and system development for primary ORNL financial accounting needs. Managed annual budgeting and reporting system activities which enabled the Laboratory to formulate its annual budget and required reporting for the Department of Energy and Congress. Served as the division's PC support resource, troubleshooting all hardware and software problems. Also served as the Division Computer Security Officer.

  • 1988 - 1989
    • Graduate Assistant, University of Tennessee Computing Center, User Services Group. Consulted with users, taught short courses on computer software, prepared user documentation, provided programming assistance, and created tapes and data sets of financial information for the university community. System duties involved use of various computing platforms and software products. Primary consultant on IBM SQL/DS product; prepared on-line user documentation for this product; taught short courses for beginners and advanced users on SQL/DS; tested new versions of product as installed; tested interface product between SAS and SQL/DS; served as backup DBA; provided primary phone support for university user community for this product.
