Some Works in Progress

Savannah Basket Block This is a block from a basket quilt that I am making with reproduction fabrics.  I began making this quilt in a class at Quiltmaker's Workshop in Birmingham, Alabama in February, 2000.  I am using an old basket pattern with the set-in "Y" seams.  I'm using the Fons and Porter line of reproduction fabrics from Benartex called "Savannah".  While this isn't the greatest scan of the block it does show most of the block -- only minus a few points!!
1st Rooster from Country Journals

This block is the first of 8 blocks for Maggie Walker's "Country Journal" quilt.  I am doing this quilt as a "block of the month" from Quiltmaker's Workshop - only we meet every other month!  I am using Allene's Heat n'Bond to secure the rooster pieces to the block and then appliquing the rooster down by machine.  By the end of the year I should have a completed quilt.
