Some Works in Progress

This is a block from a basket quilt that I am making with reproduction fabrics.  I began making this quilt in a class at Quiltmaker's Workshop in Birmingham, Alabama in February, 2000.  I am using an old basket pattern with the set-in "Y" seams.  I'm using the Fons and Porter line of reproduction fabrics from Benartex called "Savannah".  While this isn't the greatest scan of the block it does show most of the block -- only minus a few points!!



This block is the first of 8 blocks for Maggie Walker's "Country Journal" quilt.  I am doing this quilt as a "block of the month" from Quiltmaker's Workshop - only we meet every other month!  I am using Allene's Heat n'Bond to secure the rooster pieces to the block and then appliquing the rooster down by machine.  By the end of the year I should have a completed quilt.

Here is my quilt top for the Nifty Fifty 11 swap that was hostessed by Vickie Ritthaler and Vivian Ernsberger. Its off being quilted right now. Once I finish it I will post a new picture of the completed quilt!

by Vickie Ritthaler. Its off being quilted right now. I finished it for Christimas 2006 but my daughter escaped with it before I got a picture of it finisihed!! So this is really finished but is here because there is no "finished" picure!!
